Managing Editor
Simren Bindra
As a little girl, my favorite pastime was gathering my family in the living room and reading them stories of my own invention. That’s where my love for writing, imagination, and the arts first came to life.
We live in a world full of uncertainty, which makes youth voices more important than ever. As someone who loves the arts, from film and television to books, music, and visual storytelling, I am inspired by the many ways people express themselves and connect with one another.
As a high school student, I have continued to grow that passion through writing. From publishing my first book, A Life in Draft, to performing as a spoken-word poet and contributing to award-winning work, I have found a sense of purpose in storytelling. Writing, literature, and creative expression have become my safe spaces.
Becoming a Managing Editor at GEN-ZiNE is truly meaningful to me. It has given me the opportunity to share my passion while supporting other young writers in finding their voices.
GEN-ZiNE has helped me find my community. What started as a step outside my comfort zone, reaching out to join, has turned into a place where I feel inspired to write, collaborate, and grow every day. I am incredibly grateful to be part of it, and I am excited to keep telling stories that matter.
